About Me

My name is Iana Nelson and I am a trans-femme web developer! I have been programming since got my first computer, a Commodore 64. For the last 20 years I have been working as a full stack developer primarily using the .Net tech stack.
II have attended the University of Arizona Coding Bootcamp so that I could expand my skillset to include the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js). I really enjoy learning new (to me) Technologies, and I felt that it would also make me a more rounded and desirable web developer. I am looking forward to all of the new things I will be able to do at the end of the course!
I have struggled with my gender all of my life. As a Gen-X kid in a small town, there was little understanding or acceptance of people who were different. I have finally found peace with who I am. I think this is important because it gives me another perspective on the world that few other people have access to. I feel like this allows me to be more accepting of other people's differences and the perspectives that they have. Whether it is informed by ethnicity, culture, gender, or sexual orientation. The world is a big beautiful place full of vibrant and unique people, and together we are greater than the sum of our parts.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain...
